Cholecalciferol
Cholecalciferol is used as a dietary supplement in people who do not get enough vitamin D in their diets to maintain adequate health.Cholecalciferol is also suitable in adults for vitamin D deficiency due to reduced dietary intake. However, the exact role of such a deficiency for the loss of bone mass after the menopause and in advanced age is not established. Combined with calcium the vitamin can significantly reduce the frequency of fractures of the femural neck in elderly people.
