RGCIRC Lauds PM Modi’s USD 75 Million Commitment to Quad Cancer Moonshot Initiative

D.S. Negi, CEO of Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre (RGCIRC), has welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement of a USD 75 million contribution to the Quad Cancer Moonshot initiative. This bold move is seen as a pivotal moment in the fight against cervical cancer, with the aim to accelerate both vaccination and research efforts globally.

Negi emphasized that this support not only bolsters national campaigns but also strengthens international collaborations aimed at eradicating cervical cancer. He highlighted that RGCIRC, a leader in preventive oncology, views this development as a crucial step toward reducing cervical cancer rates in India.

In line with this mission, RGCIRC has recently administered around 250 free doses of the HPV vaccine to childhood cancer survivors. Negi reaffirmed the institute's commitment to aligning with national health objectives, ensuring continued promotion of HPV vaccination and early prevention strategies. These efforts, he noted, are essential for improving health outcomes for women across the country.
