Robotic Innovation Summit Showcases Future of Surgery with AI-Powered Misso

The Robotic Invention Summit (RIS), held at Meril Academy in Vapi, Gujarat, brought some of the most renowned national and international surgeons for a day of collaboration, invention, and exploration in robotic-assisted surgery. The seminar focused on Misso, Meril's pioneering AI-powered joint replacement robotic system, and its revolutionary influence on surgical precision and patient outcomes in India.

Misso, a robotic system released in June 2024, was at the core of the summit, having already made its presence known with over 50 installations across India. Misso's advanced AI-based capabilities, including real-time analytics and precision alignment, were exhibited to guests, providing insight into how the company is changing joint replacement surgery.

Along with Misso, the summit highlighted Meril's active R&D efforts in Uni-Knee Replacement, Total Hip Replacement, Trauma, and Spine Surgery. These initiatives demonstrate Meril's commitment to continual innovation and its goal of developing robotic solutions to the most demanding surgical challenges.

The conference brought together global professionals in robotic surgery to share their experiences and thoughts. Dr. Shekhar Srivastav, HOD and senior consultant at Sant Parmanand Hospital, shared his recent experience with Misso, stating that he used it for total knee replacement in a patient aged 58. The system's precision greatly reduced tissue damage, allowing for a quicker recovery. Misso's superior capabilities are redefining surgical results and establishing new benchmarks for joint replacement procedures. It's scalable and accessible."

This endorsement demonstrates Misso's potential to improve surgical efficiency and postoperative rehabilitation for patients.

Meril has established itself as a leader in medical technology innovation, supported by a cutting-edge 4-million-square-foot building. The company's infrastructure comprises production facilities for Cardiovascular, Orthopaedics, Robotics, Diagnostics, Cardiac Surgery, Endosurgery, Peripheral Intervention, and ENT, as well as extensive research and development and training programs.

This significant investment demonstrates Meril's commitment to improving patient care through cutting-edge technology and thorough education for healthcare workers.

One of Meril's primary goals is to guarantee that modern surgical technologies such as MISSO are available beyond major cities. The company has actively cooperated with hospitals and surgeon training programs to make robotic surgery available throughout India's healthcare system.

Meril's chief marketing officer, Manish Deshmukh, emphasised the company's commitment to leading healthcare innovation. MISSO represents not only a technological achievement but also our dedication to improving surgical care in India. The Robotic Innovation Summit reflects our objective of developing a collaborative, future-ready environment that benefits both surgeons and patients."

The Robotic Innovation Summit provided an important venue for knowledge exchange, reaffirming robotic-assisted surgery as the future of orthopaedic operations. As AI-powered surgical solutions such as Misso gain traction, Meril remains committed to improving patient outcomes and closing healthcare inequities across India.
