Motherhood Hospital Conducts Free Health Check-up Camp for Over 300 Lady Cops at Navi Mumbai Police HQ
In a heartfelt initiative to mark International Women's Day, Motherhood Hospital, Kharghar, organized a free health check-up camp for female police personnel at Navi Mumbai Police Headquarters, benefiting over 300 lady cops. The camp aimed to promote preventive healthcare and empower women in demanding professions to prioritize their well-being.
The health camp offered comprehensive screenings, including Complete Blood Count (CBC), Calcium levels, Thyroid Panel, Pap Smear, and Bone Mineral Density (BMD) tests. The hospital's expert team of doctors — Dr. Pratima Thamke, Dr. Surabhi Siddhartha, Dr. Anuja Thomas, and Dr. Shruti Ugran — conducted the screenings and provided personalized medical guidance to help participants detect early signs of health concerns.
Women in high-pressure jobs like law enforcement often neglect their own health due to their demanding work schedules and family responsibilities. Routine health screenings play a crucial role in the early detection and management of various health conditions such as thyroid disorders, hormonal imbalances, fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, and even early-stage cancers.
Dr. Pratima Thamke, Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at Motherhood Hospital, highlighted the need for preventive healthcare among women in uniform.
"Lady cops dedicate their lives to serving society, often at the cost of their own health. Ignoring symptoms like abnormal bleeding, persistent abdominal pain, irregular menstrual cycles, or unusual fatigue can lead to delayed diagnosis of serious health conditions. Regular screenings help identify potential risks early, enabling timely medical intervention," she said.
Motherhood Hospital reaffirmed its commitment to women's health through this initiative.
Dr. Rupali Kadam, Facility Director at Motherhood Hospitals, Kharghar, emphasized the hospital's mission:
"Women in demanding professions like law enforcement must prioritize their health as much as their duty. Through this initiative, we aim to raise awareness about the importance of preventive health checks and empower female police personnel to take charge of their well-being."
The initiative received praise from senior police officials.
Commissioner of Police Milind Bharambe acknowledged the significance of the camp, stating,
"Women often juggle family and work, neglecting their own health. However, in today's competitive era, staying healthy is essential. This initiative by Motherhood Hospital is commendable and will help female officers perform their duties more effectively."
Echoing similar sentiments, DCP Rashmi Nandedkar added,
"The well-being of a woman is the cornerstone of a healthy family. Proactive health check-ups are crucial for every woman to ensure a happier, healthier family."
