Nova IVF Fertility Organizes Walkathon in Ratlam to Break Infertility Stigma

Nova IVF Fertility Organizes Walkathon in Ratlam to Break Infertility Stigma on International Women’s Day

The event aimed to dispel common misconceptions, including the belief that infertility is solely due to female factors.

The walkathon witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 100 individuals, including students from Gatewell Nursing College, Government Medical College, and Ratlam Nursing Coaching Institute. The Chief Guests for the occasion were Shri Prahlad Pate, Mayor of Ratlam, and Dr. Anita Mutha, Dean of Government Medical College, Ratlam.

Infertility is no longer confined to urban areas, with rising cases being reported in Tier 2 regions like Ratlam, including among couples under 30. Experts at Nova IVF Fertility highlighted that environmental and lifestyle factors are playing a significant role in this trend. According to the clinic's data, 2-3 out of 10 women with infertility suffer from severe PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), while 4 out of 10 women face challenges with poor egg quality and count. Male infertility is also on the rise, with 35-40% of cases linked to poor sperm count and quality. Factors such as pesticide exposure in agricultural areas, poor nutrition, a sedentary lifestyle, and rising stress levels are contributing to declining fertility rates in both men and women.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Shruti Shetty, Fertility Specialist at Nova IVF Fertility, Ratlam, emphasized the social challenges faced by couples struggling with infertility. “Unlike other medical conditions, couples with infertility face a lot of stigma in society. Although male infertility cases are rising, the female partner often bears the psychological burden and pressure.

It is crucial that families and society support couples in seeking the right treatment and guidance from fertility specialists.”

Timely detection and intervention play a critical role in improving treatment outcomes. Dr. Kalyani Shrimali, Clinical Director and Senior Fertility Specialist at Nova IVF Fertility, Indore and Ratlam, explained, “According to the World Health Organization (WHO), couples under 35 who have been trying to conceive for over a year without success are considered infertile.

Women over 35 should seek medical evaluation if they have been trying to conceive for six months without success. Age-related decline in fertility makes early diagnosis and treatment crucial in improving pregnancy outcomes.”

The walkathon not only raised awareness but also encouraged open conversations around infertility, urging couples to prioritize their reproductive health.

The event's Guests of Honour included Dr. Naved Anjum QureshiMrs. Sheetal Saraf (Principal, Gatewell Nursing College), Dr. Darshana Jain (Assistant Professor, Government Medical College Ratlam), and Pankaj Panchal (Director, Ratlam Nursing Coaching Institute).

Nova IVF Fertility in Ratlam offers comprehensive fertility treatments, with advanced labs, cutting-edge technologies, and international standards to provide personalized care and holistic support to couples on their parenthood journey.
