Resident Doctor Recalls Harrowing Escape After Intense Fire in Ahmedabad Air India Crash

In the aftermath of the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, survivors continue to recount harrowing experiences, with many left without homes or basic belongings.

r. Tarun, a second-year resident doctor who narrowly escaped the blaze, shared his ordeal. “The fire was very intense. It was not possible to get out of my flat, so I jumped from the balcony. That's how I survived,” he told reporters at the scene, visibly shaken.

The fire, which erupted following the crash, left many stranded and forced to flee with nothing but the clothes on their backs. “We are not going home right now,” Dr. Tarun added. “We will go wherever we get accommodation. We didn’t even have the essentials with us.”

Residents have now been granted temporary access to their damaged apartments to retrieve belongings. “We got an opportunity to get our things from inside, so that's what we are doing for now,” he said, joining others sifting through the wreckage in search of medicines, documents, and other necessities.

Authorities are yet to confirm the total number of casualties or displaced residents, but emergency accommodation and relief efforts are underway for those affected by the tragedy.
