Medanta and Moolchand Join Forces to Launch Advanced Cardiac Centre in South Delhi
In a landmark collaboration aimed at boosting access to world-class cardiac care, two of India’s premier healthcare institutions—Medanta - The Medicity and Moolchand—have announced the expansion of the Medanta-Moolchand Heart Centre at Moolchand Medicity in South Delhi.
The centre, envisioned as a state-of-the-art cardiac institute, is set to deliver comprehensive and advanced heart care to residents in the region.
Medanta - The Medicity, recently ranked for the sixth consecutive year by Newsweek as the Best Private Hospital in India, will bring its globally recognized cardiac expertise to the heart of the capital through this partnership. The Medanta-Moolchand Heart Centre will offer a wide array of services, including round-the-clock cardiac emergency care, clinical and preventive cardiology, non-invasive testing, interventional cardiology procedures like angioplasty and TAVI/TAVR, electrophysiology and pacing, as well as cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries.
Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman and Managing Director of Medanta, underscored the urgency of the initiative. “We are dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality healthcare, and this collaboration with Moolchand enhances our ability to serve the residents of South Delhi with advanced cardiac services. With cardiac incidents rising sharply in India, especially among younger populations, timely diagnosis and treatment are critical. The Medanta-Moolchand Heart Centre brings expert care closer to the community and furthers our mission to ensure cutting-edge healthcare is within reach for all.”
Dr. Praveen Chandra, Chairman of Interventional Cardiology at Medanta, noted that the centre will offer complex interventional procedures, including structural heart interventions, with a focus on early diagnosis and timely treatment to improve patient outcomes.
To further bolster access to specialist care, Dr. Naresh Trehan and Dr. Sanjay Mittal, Vice Chairman of Clinical & Preventive Cardiology at Medanta, will hold regular OPDs at the centre. Dr. Tarun Kumar, Associate Director, and Dr. Veenu Kaul Aima, Associate Director of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the clinical excellence of Medanta at the Moolchand facility.
Mr. Vibhu Talwar, Trustee of Moolchand, shared a broader vision for the hospital. “We are building India's most advanced ‘next-generation’ quaternary care hospital with over 1,000 beds at our South Delhi flagship campus. By forming clinical alliances like this one with Medanta, we aim to bring the country’s best specialists to our patients. We are proud to bring world-class cardiac capabilities to the heart of Delhi.”
The partnership between Medanta and Moolchand represents a significant stride in expanding quality heart care in India, blending Medanta’s medical expertise with Moolchand’s longstanding community trust. The expanded Heart Centre is poised to serve as a model for integrated, high-quality cardiac care in the public-private healthcare ecosystem.
