DU’s School of Open Learning to Introduce Executive MBA in Healthcare Management from 2026

In a big boost for healthcare professionals aiming to upskill without stepping away from their careers, Delhi University’s School of Open Learning (SOL) is all set to launch a two-year Executive MBA in Healthcare Management beginning in the academic year 2026.

This new offering, which will be conducted through the Campus of Open Learning at Delhi University, has already cleared two major academic milestones — approval from the university’s Academic and Executive Councils.

“We’ve received the green light from the university bodies,” confirmed Prof. Payal Mago, Director of the Campus of Open Learning. “The next steps include preparing the self-learning material, which will go through academic vetting and approval from AICTE. After that, the course will be submitted to the University Grants Commission (UGC) for distance education approval.”

But what makes this Executive MBA stand out?

It’s tailor-made for professionals already working in the healthcare sector — be it doctors, hospital administrators, or allied health staff — who want to build on their managerial capabilities while continuing in their roles. The program aims to bridge the growing gap between clinical expertise and administrative excellence in India’s rapidly evolving healthcare industry.

“Graduates from any stream with at least 50% marks can apply,” Prof. Mago noted. “While it’s open to all, we see tremendous value for those already immersed in healthcare services — they’re the ones who will benefit most.”

With public and private healthcare systems increasingly relying on well-trained professionals who understand both medicine and management, this course arrives at the right time. The Executive MBA promises to blend academic theory with real-world application, helping professionals tackle the complex challenges of healthcare delivery, policy, finance, and operations.

As India’s healthcare landscape continues to grow and diversify, DU’s new program could become a vital stepping stone for professionals ready to take on leadership roles — all without giving up their day jobs.
