Caring for the Capital: Delhi to Appoint 700 Nurses to Boost Patient Care
In a big boost to Delhi’s public healthcare system, Health Minister Dr Pankaj Kumar Singh announced that 700 nurses will be appointed across government hospitals starting July 6. The move is aimed at strengthening medical services and easing the pressure on existing hospital staff.
Speaking at a Doctor’s Day celebration at Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital, Dr. Singh said, “We’re taking strong steps to ensure better healthcare delivery in the capital. From July 6, 700 nurses will join various government hospitals to improve patient care.”
That’s not all — the Minister also revealed that soon, every government hospital in Delhi will be equipped with MRI and CT scan machines. “No patient should have to run from one hospital to another for essential diagnostic tests,” he said.
The announcement was welcomed with enthusiasm by doctors and healthcare workers present at the event. With these additions, the government hopes to improve both access to and quality of treatment for Delhiites.
The recruitment drive and tech upgrade come at a time when public hospitals are witnessing rising patient loads and growing demand for timely medical attention.
