In a moving tribute to motherhood, compassion and social values, Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari inaugurated Late Smt. Kamlesh Thakur Marg at A-Block, Mansarovar Park, East Delhi, on July 15, 2026.

The ceremony was not just about naming a road—it celebrated the timeless values of love, sacrifice and selfless service that mothers pass on to future generations while also highlighting the growing importance of protecting both human health and the environment.

Addressing residents and community members, Manoj Tiwari said that mothers are the strongest pillar of every family and the first teachers of society. He noted that dedicating a public road to the memory of Late Smt. Kamlesh Thakur would ensure that her legacy of kindness, dignity and service continues to inspire generations.

Drawing a connection between motherhood and nature, the MP said that just as a mother nurtures her children, protecting trees and the environment is essential for safeguarding the health of future generations. Referring to the spirit of the national "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign, he encouraged citizens to plant trees in honour of their mothers, describing it as a meaningful tribute that promotes cleaner air, better health and a greener tomorrow.

He added that societies become stronger when they remember and honour individuals whose lives have positively influenced others. According to him, preserving such memories through public landmarks helps strengthen India's cultural values while encouraging compassion, respect and community service.

The programme was attended by MLA Jitender Mahajan, Councillor Chandra Prakash Sharma, Councillor Kumari Shivani Panchal, former MLA Vipin Sharma and several social workers, public representatives and members of community organisations.

Representatives of Teerth Yatri Mitra Mandal, Dadhichi Dehdaan Samiti, My Association, Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha, Shahdara Bar Association, Seva Ek Anokha Parivar and various Resident Welfare Associations also joined the event, reflecting widespread community participation.

Speakers remembered Late Smt. Kamlesh Thakur as a woman known for her simplicity, generosity and unwavering commitment to helping others. They said true greatness is measured not by position or fame but by the positive impact a person leaves on society through compassion and service.

The event, conducted by Atul Mudgal, concluded with floral tributes and a collective pledge to carry forward the values that Late Smt. Kamlesh Thakur represented. Residents said the newly named road is much more than a street sign—it stands as a lasting reminder of motherhood, humanity and social responsibility.

They also expressed hope that the message of caring for both people and the environment, symbolised by initiatives such as planting a tree in a mother's name, will inspire healthier and greener communities for years to come.
