Delhi Mayor Parvesh Wahi celebrated his birthday with a strong message of public health, cleanliness and community service by spending the day with sanitation workers and supporting underprivileged families instead of holding a lavish celebration.

The event brought together local residents, social workers, senior citizens, women, youth and Municipal Corporation sanitation workers, reflecting a shared commitment to social harmony and civic responsibility. Guests greeted the Mayor with bouquets and wished him good health and continued success in public life.

Addressing the gathering, Mayor Wahi said that the trust and affection of the people are his greatest strength. He reaffirmed his commitment to making Delhi cleaner, greener and healthier, stressing that better civic services and improved sanitation are essential for protecting public health and enhancing the quality of life for citizens.

A memorable moment of the programme came when noted social worker Dr. Rajkumar Mann extended his birthday wishes to the Mayor and distributed fresh fruits among poor and needy families. The gesture highlighted the importance of nutrition, compassion and community support, while sending a message that good health begins with care for the most vulnerable sections of society.

Dr. Mann said that serving the underprivileged is one of the highest forms of public service. He added that celebrating personal milestones by helping those in need encourages a healthier and more compassionate society. His initiative received warm appreciation from those present.

Mayor Wahi also shared a meal with Delhi Municipal Corporation sanitation workers at his regional office, recognising their crucial role in safeguarding public health. Interacting with the workers, he listened to their concerns and described them as the frontline force that keeps the capital clean and helps prevent the spread of diseases through effective sanitation.

Calling for greater public participation, the Mayor urged citizens to support the "Clean Delhi, Green Delhi" campaign being carried out under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. He said the Municipal Corporation of Delhi will continue to work for the welfare, dignity and safety of sanitation workers, whose contribution is vital to maintaining a healthy urban environment.
