ATORVASTATIN WITH FENOFIBRATE
Atorvastatin and fenofibrate are used in combination to treat and manage high cholesterol levels and different cardiac diseases. Atorvastatin belongs to a group of drugs known as ACE inhibitors, it reduces the amount of cholesterol in the blood. Fenofibrate is an antilipemic agent and is used to treat triglyceride imbalance in the body. Atorvastatin with Fenofibrate is a combination medication that contains Atorvastatin, a statin that lowers cholesterol levels, and Fenofibrate, a fibrate that helps reduce triglyceride levels. This combination is used to manage dyslipidemia, a condition characterized by abnormal lipid levels in the blood.-Management of dyslipidemia (elevated cholesterol and triglycerides) in patients at risk of cardiovascular disease. -Adjunct to dietary measures to lower elevated total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), apolipoprotein B, triglycerides, and to increase high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in mixed dyslipidemia. -Hypercholesterolemia, myocardial infarction ( heart attack), chest pain, and stroke.

This combination is contraindicated in individuals with: -Hypersensitivity to atorvastatin, fenofibrate, or any component of the formulation. -Active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevations of serum transaminases. -Gallbladder disease. -Hepatic impairment, renal impairment, hypothyroidism and patients with CNS diseases.
-Liver function should be monitored regularly. -Renal function should be assessed before initiating treatment. -Risk of myopathy and rhabdomyolysis, especially with higher doses. -Consult a Physician before using it during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Consuming alcohol while using atorvastatin and fenofibrate can cause chronic toxicity.
Nausea, abdominal pain, flatulence, muscle pain, inflammation, allergic reaction, liver disorder. Serious side effects may include: -Rhabdomyolysis -Hepatotoxicity -Pancreatitis
Anticoagulant drugs (warfarin, coumarin), anti-gout drugs, antibiotics and antifungal drugs ( such as tetracycline, ketoconazole), HIV medicine, contraceptive pills, anti-arthritic medications, and other antilipemic drugs.
