Ebastine
It is a long acting, nonsedating, second-generation histamine H2 receptor antagonist that binds preferentially to peripheral H1 receptor in vivo. It has antihistaminic and antiallergic activity and protects asthma patients against histamine-induced bronchoconstriction.Seasonal allergic rhinitis, Perennial allergic rhinits and chronic idiopathic urticaria.
Ebastine is administered orally, as a single daily dose preferably every morning. 10 mg daily is effective in treatment of allergic rhinitis or chronic idiopathic urticaria. A dose of 5mg daily is advised for children.
Cardiac arrhythmias.
In patients with known QTc prolongation.
No serious adverse reactions were observed.
Conconmitant use of ketoconazole or erythromycin should be avoided.
