Tolperisone
A centrally acting muscle relaxant that is used to treat acute muscle spasms in back pain & spasiticity in neurological diseaseCross striated muscle caused by neurological disease. Spastic paralysis, encephalopathies (muscle dystonia). Muscular hypertonicity & muscular contraction (spondylosis, spondylarthrosis, cervial & lumbar syndromes, arthrosis, diabetical angiopahty, thromboangiitis, obliterans, Raynaud's syndrome
Oral adult dose is 150mg-450mg in 2-4 hour period divided into two or three doses. Adult over 12 years old - Oral 50mg to 150mg every 8 hours. Pediatric Dosage : Minimum weight of 20kg minimum age 6 year old - oral dosage 1000mg/kg every 8 hrs. Neonatal dosage: Minimum weight of 3 kg - 2.500mg/kg every 8 hours.
Myasthenia, children under 1 year, pregnancy (1st trimester of pregnancy), Breast feeding.
Should be taken in patients having: • Liver damage • Kidney disease • Heart surgery
Hypersensitivity, muscle weakness, vomating, nausea, dyspepsia, skin allergic reaction, skin rash, Quincke's edema, anaphylatic shock.
Few interaction with other medicine can enhance other neuromuscular blocking agents.
