Zaltoprofen
Zaltoprofen, a preferential COX-2 inhibitor is a propinoic acid derivative, exhibited a potent inhibitor action on the nociceptive responses by blocking B-2 receptors.For anti inflammatory and analgesic activity in rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, low back pain, periarthritis of shoulder, cervicobrachial syndrome, postoperative, post trauma, and post dental extraction.
80-160 mg as and when required or thrice daily (not high doses).
Pregnancy, Active GI bleeding, Lactation.
Asthma, bleeding disorders, cardiovascular disease, allergy due to aspirin.
Gastric discomfort/pain, nausea, photosensitivity (inflammation where sun hit), hypersensitivity such as rash/itch. Fatigue, loss of appetite, yellowing of the skin/eyes (liver dysfunction). Pain, pressured feeling in the pit of stomach, nausea, vomiting, blood vomiting, bloody stool (peptic ulcer, small/large intestine ulcer, hemorrahagic colitis). Fever, pain in throat, headache, nose or gum bleeding (agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia).
