Alprazolam belongs to a class of central nervous system depressant drugs known as benzodiazepines. while sertraline belongs to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Alprazolam with sertraline is widely used as an antidepressant medication for panic disorder.

Indications

Anxiety, panic disorder, and depression.


Contra-Indications

Hepatic diseases, kidney issues, respiratory diseases, and myasthenia gravis.


Special Precautions

It is recommended to consult a physician before using alprazolam and sertraline combination in pregnancy and breastfeeding. Consuming alcohol with alprazolam and sertraline may cause severe toxicity.


Side Effects

Vomiting, constipation, dizziness, restlessness, weakness, xerostomia (dry mouth), lightheadedness.


Drug Interactions

Antifungal drugs, anti-ulcer drugs, antibiotics, medicines used to treat angina, hypertension, and HIV infection.
