Asparagus Racemosus

Asparagus racemosus and Asparagus adscendens is known as shatavari in India. It is a potent galactagogue drug. It has antioxidant, anti-oxytocic, diuretic anti-diabetic, antiulcer, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety, and immunomodulatory properties.

Indications

Polycystic ovarian syndrome, infertility, lactation insufficiency, cardiac conditions, anxiety, depression, boost immunity, arthritis, diabetes, bronchitis.


Dosage

The recommended dose for Shatavari is 2-6 grams in form, but not more than 6 grams.


Contra-Indications

Hypoglycemia.


Special Precautions

It is not recommended during pregnancy. Consult a physician before using it.


Side Effects

Hypersensitivity reactions, dehydration, and shortness of breath.


Drug Interactions

Asparagus Racemosus should not be used with other diuretic drugs.
