Avanafil
Avanafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It works by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, helping to achieve and maintain an erection.Erectile Dysfunction (ED)
-Initial Dose: 100 mg taken orally approximately 15-30 minutes before sexual activity. -Maintenance Dose: Adjusted to 50 mg or increased to 200 mg based on efficacy and tolerability. -Maximum Frequency: Once per day.
Known hypersensitivity to Avanafil or any of its components. -Concurrent use with nitrates or nitric oxide donors. -Severe cardiovascular conditions or recent stroke/heart attack. -Severe hepatic or renal impairment.
-Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease. -Avoid use in patients predisposed to priapism or with anatomical deformation of the penis. -Not recommended for use in women, children, or adolescents.
-Common: Headache, flushing, nasal congestion, and dizziness. -Rare: Vision changes, back pain, and prolonged erection (priapism). -Seek medical attention for serious allergic reactions or chest pain.
-Increased hypotensive effect with nitrates or alpha-blockers. -Potential interactions with CYP3A4 inhibitors such as ketoconazole and ritonavir. -Avoid alcohol as it may enhance side effects.
