Fluconazole Tablets are an antifungal medication used to treat various fungal infections, including yeast infections and cryptococcal meningitis.

Indications

-Treatment of vaginal yeast infections -Treatment of systemic candidiasis -Prevention of fungal infections in immunocompromised patients


Dosage

-Adults: 150 mg once daily for vaginal yeast infections -Pediatric: Dosage based on weight and condition


Contra-Indications

-Hypersensitivity to fluconazole or any of its components -Co-administration with terfenadine or astemizole


Special Precautions

-Use with caution in patients with liver disease -Monitor for signs of severe skin reactions


Side Effects

-Common: Nausea, headache, abdominal pain -Rare: Liver toxicity, severe allergic reactions


Drug Interactions

May interact with warfarin, cyclosporine, and certain anticonvulsants
