Bisacodyl
Bisacodyl is a stimulant laxative used to relieve constipation and to prepare the bowel before surgery or certain medical examinations. It works by stimulating the muscles of the colon to promote bowel movements.-Relief of constipation -Bowel preparation before surgery or diagnostic procedures
-Adults: Typically, 5-10 mg orally once daily, or as directed by a healthcare provider. -Children: Dosage should be adjusted based on age and weight, and it should be prescribed by a healthcare provider.
-Hypersensitivity: Allergy to bisacodyl or any of its components. -Acute abdominal conditions: Such as appendicitis, bowel obstruction, or inflammatory bowel disease. -Severe dehydration or electrolyte imbalance.
-Use with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders. -Ensure adequate fluid intake to prevent dehydration. -Consult a healthcare provider if symptoms persist beyond one week.

-May interact with antacids and milk; these should be avoided within 1 hour of taking bisacodyl as they can alter the drug's effectiveness. -Other laxatives may increase the risk of dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.
