Brinzolamide

Brinzolamide is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor used in the treatment of glaucoma.

Indications

Treatment of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma.


Dosage

Typically administered as 1 drop in the affected eye(s) 3 times daily.


Contra-Indications

Hypersensitivity to brinzolamide or sulfonamides.


Special Precautions

Use with caution in patients with severe renal impairment or sulfonamide allergy.


Side Effects

Common side effects include blurred vision, bitter taste, and eye discomfort.


Drug Interactions

Potential interactions with oral carbonic anhydrase inhibitors and high-dose salicylates.
