This combination medication is used to treat symptoms of cold, cough, and allergies. Bromhexine is a mucolytic agent that helps thin mucus, making it easier to clear from airways. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that helps reduce nasal congestion. Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that reduces allergy symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes.

Indications

-Relief from symptoms of common cold and flu. -Cough with mucus production. -Nasal congestion and sinus pressure. -Allergic reactions such as runny nose, sneezing, and itchy eyes.


Dosage

-Adults: Usually, 10 ml of syrup every 6-8 hours or as prescribed by the physician. -Children: Dosage based on weight and as prescribed by a healthcare provider. -Take with or without food, following the prescribed duration.


Contra-Indications

-Hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients. -Severe hypertension or coronary artery disease. -Glaucoma, hyperthyroidism, and prostatic hypertrophy (for phenylephrine).


Special Precautions

-Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney disease. -Not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless prescribed by a doctor. -Avoid alcohol and other sedatives due to the risk of increased drowsiness. -Do not drive or operate heavy machinery after taking the medication.

Drug Interactions

-May interact with MAO inhibitors, increasing the risk of hypertensive crisis. -Potential interactions with beta-blockers, tricyclic antidepressants, and other antihistamines or decongestants. -Avoid combining with alcohol and CNS depressants.
