Calcipotriol

Calcipotriol is a non sterodial antipsoriatic agent, derived from naturally occurring Vit D. It induces differentiation and suppresses proliferation of keratinocytes, thus reversing the abnormal keratinocyte changes in psoriasis. Calcipotriol helps in normalization of epidermal growth.

Indications

Topical treatment of psoriasis.

Dosage

To be applied topically in the affected areas twice daily. Application can be reduced to once daily.

Contra-Indications

Hypersensitivity.

Special Precautions

To be used cautiously in skin folds. Pregnancy and lactation : Safety not yet established.
