-For skin preparation: Apply undiluted chlorhexidine gluconate to the intended area and allow to dry. -For wound cleansing: Dilute chlorhexidine gluconate as directed by healthcare provider and use to irrigate or cleanse the wound. -For oral hygiene: Rinse mouth with a diluted chlorhexidine gluconate solution as directed, usually for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
-Known hypersensitivity or allergy to chlorhexidine gluconate or any of its components. -Avoid contact with eyes and middle ear.
-Do not swallow chlorhexidine gluconate oral rinse. -Use with caution in premature infants and newborns. -Avoid prolonged or repeated use on open wounds or mucous membranes. -Keep out of reach of children.
