Chloroxylenol is an antiseptic agent used primarily for its antibacterial properties. It is commonly found in disinfectants and is used to clean and sanitize surfaces and wounds.

Indications

-General antiseptic for minor cuts and abrasions -Disinfection of surfaces and medical instruments -Prevention of infection in minor wounds


Dosage

-For topical use: Apply a small amount to the affected area 2-3 times daily or as directed by a healthcare provider. -For surface disinfection: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for dilution and application.


Contra-Indications

-Hypersensitivity to chloroxylenol or any component of the formulation -Do not use on large areas of broken skin or deep wounds


Special Precautions

-Avoid contact with eyes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. -Do not ingest. -Use with caution in individuals with sensitive skin.


Side Effects

-Local irritation or redness -Allergic reactions (rare) -Dryness or peeling of the skin at the application site
