Chlorpheniramine
Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, and itchy throat or nose. It is commonly used to treat symptoms of allergic rhinitis and other allergic conditions.-Allergic rhinitis -Hay fever -Allergic conjunctivitis -Chronic urticaria (hives) -Other allergic conditions
-Adults and children 12 years and older: Typically, 4 mg every 4 to 6 hours as needed, not to exceed 24 mg per day. -Children 6 to 12 years: 2 mg every 4 to 6 hours as needed, not to exceed 12 mg per day. -Children 2 to 6 years: 1 mg every 4 to 6 hours as needed, not to exceed 6 mg per day.
-Known hypersensitivity to chlorpheniramine or any other component of the formulation. -Newborns or premature infants. -Use with caution in individuals with asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or severe renal impairment.
-Use with caution in patients with urinary retention, glaucoma, or gastrointestinal obstruction. -May cause drowsiness; caution should be exercised when performing tasks requiring mental alertness. -Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed and if the potential benefits outweigh the risks.

-May enhance the sedative effects of alcohol and other central nervous system depressants. -Interaction with other antihistamines or anticholinergic drugs may increase the risk of side effects. -Use with caution in conjunction with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
