Diosmin

It is a vascular protector and it strengthens venous tone. Acts on the venous return circulatory system: it reduces venous distensibility & venous stasis; in the microcirculation, it normalizes capillary permeability and reinforces capillary resistance

Indications

Treatment of chronic organic and functional venous insufficiency of the lower limbs with the following symptoms, heavy legs, pain, nocturnal cramps. Haemorrhoids and acute haemorrhoidal attacks. DUB & IUCD-induced bleeding and other capillary fragility.

Dosage

900 mg of diosmin plus 100 mg of hesperidin daily has been used for up to 2 months.

Contra-Indications

First trimester of pregnancy.

Special Precautions

Pregnancy.

Side Effects

Stomach and abdominal pain, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, skin redness and hives, muscle pain, blood problems, and altered heart rate.

Drug Interactions

Metabolism of metronidazole may be reduced by concurrent admin of diosmin.
