EMBRAMINE

It is histamine (H1) antagonist.

Indications

Allergic response.

Dosage

Oral; 25mg once or twice daily.

Side Effects

CNS depression, paradoxical stimulation (Children), dryness of mouth, thickening of respiratory secretions, blurring of vision, urinary retention, constiption, bradycardia, followed by tachycardia & arrhthmias, GI upsets, blood dyscrasias, tinnitus, vertigo, giddiness, nausea, headche, hypotension & paraethesias.

Drug Interactions

Masks ototoxicity produced by aminoglycoside & antibiotics, enhances CNS depression produced by alcohol, barbiturates, hypnotics, sedatives, analgesics & neuroleptics, MAOIs, atropine & TCA have addictive antimuscarinsic effects.
