ETIDRONATE DISODIUM

It is the disodium saltof diphosphoric acid. It acts primarily on bone and can inhibit the formation, growth and dissolution of hydroxyapatite crystals and their amorphous precursors by chemisorption to calcium phosphate surfaces.

Indications

Hypercalcemia of malignancy.

Dosage

250 mg in single oral dose.

Special Precautions

Pregnancy and lactation, safety and effectiveness in children have not been established.

Side Effects

Hypersensitivity reactions include angiodema/ urticaria, rash and/or pruritus have been reported rarely.
