Iloperidone

It is atypical antipsychotic used to treat schizophrenia.

Indications

Schizophrenia.

Dosage

Oral, 12 to 24mg/day administered twice daily.

Contra-Indications

Hypersensitivity.

Special Precautions

Paediatric: Safety and effectiveness not established in chlidren and adolescents. Pregnancy: No human or animal data. Use only if clearly needed. Lactation: Not indicated. Elderly: Use with caution in dementia related psychosis.

Side Effects

Dizziness, dry mouth, fatigue, nasal congestion, orthostatic hypotension, somnolence, tachycardia, weight gain, Q-Tc interval prolongation, changes in glucose and lipid abnormalities.

Drug Interactions

Use with caution along with centrally action drugs and alcohol, due to a-1 blockade it potentiates antihypertensive effect of some drugs.
