Lenalidomide

Lenalidomide

Antineoplastic,immunomodulatory, and antiangiogenic properties. Inhibits the secretion of proinflammatory cytokines and increases the secretion of anti-inflammatory cytokines.

Indications

A thalidomide analogue, immunomodulatory agent with antiangiogenic & antineoplastic property to treat hematologic and solid cancers.


Dosage

Adult :For anemia : 10mg with water daily. For Multiple Myeloma : 25mg/day of Lenalidomide with water orally as a single 25mg capsules on days 1 through 21 of repeated 28 day cycles. Renal dose adjustments : Moderate renal function impairment. Multiple Myeloma : 10mg every 24 hours. Myelodysplastic Syndromes : 5mg every 24 hours. Severe renal function impairment:Multiple Myeloma : 15mg every 48 hours. Myelodysplastic Syndromes : 5mg every 48 hours.


Contra-Indications

Pregnancy, hypersensitivity.


Special Precautions

Breast-feed avoided allergic & kidney disease.


Side Effects

Diarrhea, loss of appetite, weight loss, decreased sense of touch & taste, blurred vision, depression, swelling of the arms, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs, fast or pounding heartbeat, muscle cramps, thrombosis, pulmonary embolus, hepatotoxicity, myelo-suppression.
