Levocloperastine

Levocloperastine is an antitussive (cough suppressant) medication primarily used to treat dry or non-productive coughs. It works by acting on the cough center in the brain to reduce the urge to cough.

Indications

-Dry, irritating, or non-productive cough -Cough associated with upper respiratory tract infections


Dosage

-Adults: 20 mg orally, 2–3 times daily, as directed by a healthcare provider. -Children: Dose as prescribed by a pediatrician, depending on age and weight.


Contra-Indications

-Hypersensitivity to Levocloperastine or any of its components -Severe hepatic or renal impairment -Not recommended for children below 2 years


Special Precautions

-Use cautiously in patients with a history of liver or kidney disorders. -Avoid alcohol and sedatives while taking this medication, as it may enhance drowsiness. -Pregnant and lactating women should consult their doctor before use.
