LIGNOCAINE HCL
Lignocaine HCL, also known as Lidocaine Hydrochloride, is a local anesthetic used to numb an area of the body before surgery or other medical procedures. It works by blocking nerve signals in the body.-Local anesthesia during minor surgical procedures -Relief of pain from certain medical conditions, such as nerve pain or dental procedures -Used as an antiarrhythmic agent in the treatment of ventricular arrhythmias
-Adults: The dosage varies depending on the type and extent of the procedure. Typically, for local anesthesia, the dose ranges from 1-5 mg/kg body weight. For antiarrhythmic use, initial doses are usually 50-100 mg IV bolus, with subsequent doses as needed. -Children: Dosage should be adjusted based on the child's weight and specific medical condition.
-Known hypersensitivity to Lignocaine or other amide-type local anesthetics -Severe liver disease -Certain heart conditions, such as severe bradycardia or heart block
-Use with caution in patients with a history of seizures, liver disease, or cardiac problems -Monitor for signs of systemic toxicity, such as dizziness, drowsiness, or seizures -Avoid excessive use to prevent adverse effects
-Common: Nausea, dizziness, headache, numbness at the injection site -Serious: Allergic reactions, seizures, cardiac arrhythmias, difficulty breathing
-May interact with other medications that affect heart rhythm, such as antiarrhythmics or beta-blockers -Caution is advised when used with other CNS depressants or drugs that affect liver metabolism
