Magnesium Chloride
Magnesium Chloride is a mineral supplement used to prevent and treat low amounts of magnesium in the blood. It is essential for the normal functioning of cells, nerves, muscles, bones, and the heart. Magnesium chloride is also used in industrial and medical applications, including the treatment of magnesium deficiency.-Magnesium deficiency -Constipation (as a laxative) -Heartburn and indigestion (as an antacid) -Used in the manufacturing of certain medical and industrial products
-Adults: Typically, 200-400 mg taken orally per day in divided doses. -Children: Dosage must be determined by a healthcare provider based on age and body weight.
-Hypersensitivity to magnesium chloride or any component of the formulation -Severe renal impairment -Myasthenia gravis -Heart block
-Use with caution in patients with mild to moderate renal impairment -Monitor serum magnesium levels in patients with renal dysfunction -Avoid use in patients with gastrointestinal disorders -Not recommended for long-term use without medical supervision
-Diarrhea -Stomach pain -Nausea -Vomiting -Electrolyte imbalance (hypermagnesemia)
-May interact with certain antibiotics (e.g., tetracyclines and fluoroquinolones) reducing their effectiveness -Can interact with other medications such as bisphosphonates and certain diuretics
