Mecobalamin And Methylcobalamin
Mecobalamin and Methylcobalamin are forms of Vitamin B12, essential for nerve health, brain function, and the production of red blood cells. They are used to treat Vitamin B12 deficiency and associated conditions.-Vitamin B12 deficiency -Pernicious anemia -Diabetic neuropathy -Peripheral neuropathy -Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) -Supporting cognitive function and mental health
-Adults: 500 mcg to 1000 mcg daily, depending on the severity of the deficiency and medical advice. -Children: Dosage as directed by a healthcare provider.
Hypersensitivity to mecobalamin, methylcobalamin, or any component of the formulation.
-Use with caution in patients with Leber's disease or other optic nerve atrophies. -Monitor levels in patients with megaloblastic anemia. -Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a healthcare provider before use.
Gastrointestinal adverse drug reactions included anorexia, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. Rarely hypersensitivity reactions like rash may occur.
-Chloramphenicol may interfere with the hematologic response to Vitamin B12. -Metformin may reduce Vitamin B12 absorption. -Proton pump inhibitors and H2 receptor antagonists may also decrease B12 absorption.
