MELITRACAN
Melitracan is a tricyclic antidepressant medication primarily used to treat depression. -Hypersensitivity to melitracan or other tricyclic antidepressants -Recent myocardial infarction -Severe liver disease -Concurrent use with MAO inhibitors
-Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, glaucoma, urinary retention, or epilepsy. -Monitor for signs of suicidal ideation, especially in young adults. -Avoid abrupt discontinuation; taper off gradually under medical supervision. -Use caution when operating machinery or driving.
-Common: Dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, drowsiness, weight gain. -Serious: Cardiac arrhythmias, seizures, severe hypotension, increased risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior.
-MAO inhibitors: Increased risk of serotonin syndrome. -SSRIs/SNRIs: Increased risk of serotonin syndrome. -Alcohol: Enhanced sedative effects. -Anticholinergic drugs: Increased side effects such as dry mouth and constipation.
