Nalbuphine Hydrochloride dihydrate
Nalbuphine hydrochloride is a synthetic opioid agonist-antagonist analgesic of the phenanthrene series. It is chemically related to both the widely used opioid antagonist, naloxone, and the potent opioid analgesic, oxymorphone. Nalbuphine has been shown to have a low abuse potential.Moderate to severe pain, supplement to balanced anesthesia, for preoperative and postoperative analgesia, and as analgesia during labor and delivery.
10 mg for a 70 kg individual administered subcutaneously, intramuscularly, or intravenously; this dose may be repeated every 3 to 6 hours as necessary. Dose need to be adjusted according to the severity of pain and indication.
Hypersensitivity.
Impaired respiration, Impaired Renal or Hepatic Function, Myocardial Infarction, Biliary Tract surgery, Fetal Bradycardia is noted during pregnancy. Paediatric: Safety below 18 years not established. Pregnancy: Category B; use if needed. Lactation: Secreted in milk, use with caution.
Sedation, sweaty/clammy, nausea/vomiting, dizziness/vertigo, dry mouth, and headache.
Opioid analgesic, general anesthetics, phenothiazines, or other tranquilizers, sedatives, hypnotics, or other CNS depressants.
