Nicinamide

Nicinamide, also known as niacinamide, is a form of vitamin B3 (niacin). It is an essential nutrient that supports the body in converting food into energy and maintaining healthy cells. Unlike niacin, nicinamide does not cause flushing. It is commonly used in dietary supplements and skin care products due to its numerous health benefits.

Indications

-Prevention and treatment of niacin deficiency (pellagra) -Management of acne and skin inflammation -Support in improving skin barrier function and hydration -Potential aid in reducing hyperpigmentation and fine lines -Supportive treatment for certain skin conditions like rosacea


Dosage

-For Pellagra (niacin deficiency): 300 mg per day in divided doses -For Acne and Skin Conditions: Topical application of 2-5% nicinamide gel or cream, as directed by a healthcare provider -Dietary Supplement: 20-35 mg daily as part of a multivitamin


Contra-Indications

-Hypersensitivity to nicinamide or any component of the formulation -Severe liver disease -Peptic ulcer disease -Arterial bleeding
