Noscapine
Chlophedianol HCl is an antihistamine and antitussive agent used primarily to relieve coughs and symptoms of the common cold. It works by suppressing the cough reflex in the brain.-Cough associated with the common cold -Cough due to upper respiratory tract infections -Symptomatic relief of cough
-Adults: Typically 10-20 mg every 4-6 hours, not to exceed 120 mg per day. -Children: Dosage depends on age and weight; consult a healthcare provider for precise dosing instructions.
-Hypersensitivity to Chlophedianol or any of its components -Patients with a history of hypersensitivity reactions to other antihistamines -Concurrent use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days of stopping MAOIs
-Use with caution in patients with a history of asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). -May cause drowsiness; avoid operating heavy machinery or driving until you know how the medication affects you. -Consult a healthcare provider if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
-Common: Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth -Less common: Nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, constipation
-May interact with other CNS depressants, increasing the risk of drowsiness or sedation. -Potential interaction with antihypertensive medications, leading to reduced effectiveness. -Avoid use with alcohol and other depressants.
