Octocrylene

Octocrylene is a chemical compound commonly used as an ingredient in sunscreens and skincare products. It absorbs UVB and short UVA rays (280-320 nm), providing protection against sunburn and photodamage. Octocrylene is often combined with other UV filters to enhance its effectiveness.

Indications

-Prevention of sunburn -Protection against UV-induced skin damage -Used in combination with other sunscreens to boost efficacy


Dosage

Apply liberally to all exposed skin areas 15-30 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every two hours, or more often if swimming, sweating, or towel drying.


Contra-Indications

-Known hypersensitivity or allergy to octocrylene or any of its components -Avoid use on broken or damaged skin


Special Precautions

-Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. -For external use only -Discontinue use and consult a healthcare provider if rash or irritation develops -Use in conjunction with other sun protection measures (e.g., wearing protective clothing, seeking shade)
