Olopatadine Hydrochloride

It is a H1 receptor blocker and also inhibit action of production/release of chemical mediators (leukotrienes, thromboxane and platelet-aggregating factors).

Indications

Allergic rhinitis, urticaria and itching accompanied by skin disease (eczema, dermatitis, pruritus cutaneous, psoriasis vulgaris, erythema exudativum multiforme.


Dosage

Oral, 5mg twice daily.


Contra-Indications

Hypersensitivity


Special Precautions

Patient with renal impairment. Paediatric: Safety not established in infants. Pregnancy: Safety not yet established. Lactation: Not recommended. Elderly: Use with caution.


Side Effects

Nausea or diarrhea, drowsiness or headache, weight gain, hot flushes, menstrual disorder.
