Otilonium bromide

It is a calcium antagonist with direct myolytic effect. It inhibits both baseline & chemically or physically stimulated gastrointestinal motility.

Indications

For dyskinesias & spastic States of digestive canal, Acute pulmonary oedema, smooth muscle relaxant used in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome.

Dosage

40mg, dosage is one tablet two/three times a day according to physician's discretion.

Contra-Indications

Hypersensitivity to the active ingredients, not used in intestinal obstruction

Special Precautions

Elderly patients, pregnancy and breastfeeding patients with glaucoma.

Side Effects

Generally well tolerated. It may cause in susceptible individuals a slight fatigue, nausea or heartburn.
