Pazufloxacin

Pazufloxacin

It is a fused tricyclic quinolone derivative having potent broad specturm activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria including variety of resistant strains and anaerobic bacteria.

Indications

Respiratory Tract infections, urinary tract infections, abdominal infections, genital infection, secondary infections (after injuries, burns, and postoperative).


Dosage

Recommended dose is 300 to 500mg twice a day administered as an I.V. infusion over 30-60 minutes. The total duration of therapy should not exceed 14 days. The maximum recomended dose in patient with moderate to severe renal failure should be 300 mg twice a day.


Contra-Indications

Hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation, pregnancy, infants and children.


Special Precautions

Previous history of hypersensitivity for quinolone derivatives, severe renal damage, Convulsive disorders, Elderly.


Side Effects

Diarrhea, rashes, nausea and vomiting, Convulsions rarely.
