Phenylpropanolamine, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Paracetamol

A combination medication used to relieve symptoms associated with the common cold, flu, or allergies such as nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, and mild pain or fever.

Indications

-Relief of symptoms associated with common cold or flu -Nasal congestion -Runny nose -Sneezing -Fever -Mild to moderate pain


Dosage

Adults and Children (12 years and older): 1 tablet every 4-6 hours, not exceeding 4 doses per day. Children under 12 years: Dosage should be determined by a physician.


Contra-Indications

-Hypersensitivity to Phenylpropanolamine, Chlorpheniramine, or Paracetamol -Patients with severe hypertension or coronary artery disease -Patients taking MAO inhibitors or within 14 days of stopping MAOI use


Special Precautions

-Use with caution in patients with high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, or hyperthyroidism -May cause drowsiness; avoid driving or operating heavy machinery -Avoid alcohol while taking this medication -Not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless advised by a physician


Side Effects

-Drowsiness -Dizziness -Dry mouth, nose, or throat -Increased heart rate -Nausea or vomiting -Nervousness or restlessness


Drug Interactions

-MAO inhibitors: May cause hypertensive crisis -Alcohol or other CNS depressants: May enhance sedative effects -Beta-blockers, antidepressants: May interfere with the effects of Phenylpropanolamine
