Rebamipide is a medication primarily used for its mucoprotective and anti-ulcer properties. Rebamipide is an amino acid analog of quinolinone. It is used for treatment of gastritis and peptic ulcer. It acts by the decrease in oxygen radicals, increase in blood flow and production of protective prostaglandins in ulcer mucosa, which accelerates the process of healing. Rebamipide is a quinolinone derivative that exerts its therapeutic effects by enhancing the production of mucin, a protective substance that forms a barrier on the surface of the stomach and intestines. It also possesses anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Indications

-Rebamipide is indicated for the treatment of various conditions, including: Gastric ulcers Duodenal ulcers Erosive gastritis Gastroduodenal mucosal lesions associated with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy Treatment of dry eyes -Behcet`s disease, recurrent oral aphthous, ulcers (aphthae), skin lesions, uveitis, and genital ulcers. It`s used as both a treatment, and a prevention.


Dosage

-oral; 100mg three times a day. -The dosage of Rebamipide may vary based on the specific condition being treated. It is typically taken orally, and the recommended dosage should be determined by a healthcare professional.


Contra-Indications

Rebamipide is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to the drug.


Special Precautions
