Reboxetine

Reboxetine is the first of a new class of drugs (antidepressants), the selective noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors. By selectively attacking the norepinephrine component of deression, reboxetine improves not only the individuals mood but also increases energy and motivations.

Indications

Depressive illness.


Dosage

8-10mg per day.


Special Precautions

Severe renal and hepatic impairment, pregnancy, lactation, epilepsy, urinary retention, glaucoma.


Side Effects

Dry mouth, insomnia, constipation, nausea, sweating, headache, urinary hesitancy, postural hypotension, tachycardia.


Drug Interactions

Antiarrythmics, antipsychotics, cyclosporin, imidazole and triazole antifungals, tricyclic antidepressants, MAOI's.
