Sertaconazole Nitrate

It is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent with excellent activity against yeasts, dermatophytes and excellent fungi. In addition to this antifungal effecacy, it has a good safety profile, sustained cutaneous retention, and low systemic absorption, all of which make it ideal for topical applications.

Indications

Superficial fungal infections of skin including tenia pedis. Yeasts and dematophyte fungi and it is also active against bacteria, mainly Gram-positive-cocci, making it highly efficient in the treatment of polymicrobial infections. It is also an anti-inflammatory anti-itch.

Dosage

Cream -2% should be applied twice daily for 2 weeks.

Side Effects

Contact dermatitis, dry skin, burning skin, application site reaction and pruritis.
