Sulfur

Sulfur is a chemical element commonly used in the treatment of various skin conditions, including acne, dandruff, and seborrheic dermatitis. It works by reducing inflammation, acting as a keratolytic agent to shed dead skin cells, and exhibiting antimicrobial properties.

Indications

-Acne vulgaris -Dandruff -Seborrheic dermatitis -Psoriasis -Eczema


Dosage

-Acne: Apply sulfur-containing products (creams, lotions, or washes) 1-2 times daily or as directed by a healthcare provider. -Dandruff/Seborrheic Dermatitis: Use sulfur shampoos 2-3 times a week or as prescribed.


Contra-Indications

-Hypersensitivity to sulfur or sulfur-containing compounds -Individuals with known allergic reactions to sulfur


Special Precautions

Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. -Use with caution in individuals with sensitive skin or those prone to allergic reactions. -Discontinue use if severe irritation or allergic reactions occur.
