Terpenehydrate, Codeine Phosphate, Menthol, Tolusyp, Vasaca Liq. Extract, Alcohol

This cough syrup is a combination medication containing Terpenehydrate, Codeine Phosphate, Menthol, Tolusyp, Vasaca Liq. Extract, and Alcohol. It is formulated to provide relief from cough symptoms associated with various respiratory conditions.

Indications

-Dry, irritating cough -Productive cough -Bronchitis -Pharyngitis -Other respiratory tract infections

Dosage

-Adults: Take 10-20ml orally every 4-6 hours, as needed. -Children (6-12 years): Take 5-10ml orally every 4-6 hours, as needed. -Not recommended for children under 6 years old.

Contra-Indications

-Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients -Respiratory depression -Asthma exacerbation -Severe hepatic impairment

Special Precautions

-Use with caution in elderly patients and those with compromised respiratory function. -Avoid use in patients with a history of substance abuse or addiction. -Do not exceed recommended dosage to prevent respiratory depression or overdose. -Use with caution in patients with hepatic or renal impairment.

Side Effects

-Drowsiness -Dizziness -Nausea -Vomiting -Constipation -Respiratory depression (rare, but serious)

Drug Interactions

-Concurrent use with other central nervous system depressants (e.g., benzodiazepines, opioids, alcohol) may potentiate sedation and respiratory depression. -MAO inhibitors may increase the risk of serotonin syndrome. -Use with caution with medications metabolized by CYP2D6, as codeine is a substrate of this enzyme.
