TRAVOPROST

It is a selective FP prostanoid receptor agonist which is believed to reduce intraocular pressure by increasing uveoscleral outflow.

Indications

reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma.


Dosage

Ocular, 0.004% one drop daily in evening


Contra-Indications

Hypersensitivity, pregnancy


Special Precautions

Paediatric : safety not established Pregnancy: category C, Use with caution. Lactation: Secreted in milk Elderly: safe to use


Side Effects

brown pigmentation of the iris, periorbital and/or eyelid tissue, and eyelashes, macular edema, including cystoid macular edema, hypotension and bradycardia


Drug Interactions

Bimatoprost, Timolol and with Brimonidine eye drops.
